東京物語 (Tokyo Story) influenced Perfect Days
Added by Media Influence Map · 5 October 2026
The evidence
Wim Wenders has called Ozu his master, and named Perfect Days' hero Hirayama after the family name Ozu used in Tokyo Story and other films. The still, observational style and the quiet daily rhythm are Wenders's homage to him.
