Brakebills is a secret magical college reached by an impossible entrance exam, with houses, a brutal specialisation system, and a teaching staff who withhold what the students most need to know. What it changes is the consequence. Passing the exam does not fix Quentin, the magic is taught as exhausting technical labour rather than as wonder, and the graduates end up rich, bored and self-destructive. The two-target structure is deliberate: Brakebills answers Hogwarts, and Fillory answers Narnia, which the graph already holds as a separate edge.
