This is a series.

A mercenary with terminal cancer submits to an experimental cure that leaves him unkillable and disfigured, and goes looking for the man who did it. He narrates throughout, addresses the audience, and comments on the budget he is working with. It was made cheaply after leaked test footage forced the studio's hand, and it outgrossed the respectable films around it.
