The story began with Joe Grant's drawings of his own English springer spaniel, Lady, and the animators studied real dogs to give the characters dog behaviour, not human behaviour in dog shapes.

About the work

Lady and the Tramp

This is a series.

A pampered spaniel finds herself displaced by a new baby, muzzled and lost on the wrong side of town, and is shown the city by a stray with no collar and no intention of getting one. Disney's first animated feature in widescreen, and the spaghetti is the scene everybody remembers.
