About the work

Les Tuniques bleues (The Blue Coats)

This is a series.

During the American Civil War, two Union cavalrymen serve in the 22nd Cavalry: Sergeant Chesterfield, a patriotic career soldier eager for glory, and Corporal Blutch, a cynic who would rather desert than die in battle. Their adventures carry them through real campaigns and battles, where the jokes sit on top of a steady argument about the absurdity and cruelty of war.
