InfluenceMEDIUM

Disney credits Frozen as inspired by Andersen's The Snow Queen, a project the studio had tried and abandoned for decades. What survived the rewrites is the frozen heart, the ice queen and a girl's journey through winter to save someone she loves; the villain became Anna's sister, and the story became about the two of them.
