InfluenceMEDIUM

Brad Bird has described The Incredibles as drawing on the 1960s Bond films as much as on superhero comics: the volcano island lair, the monorail, the gadget fitting with Edna Mode, and a score Michael Giacchino wrote in the brass-heavy spy style of John Barry, whom Bird had originally wanted.

About the work

The Incredibles

This is a series.

Superheroes have been sued into retirement and given ordinary jobs, and a former great is doing insurance claims and lying to his wife about where he goes at night. The villain is a fan he brushed off as a boy who has built his way to powers he was not born with. It is a film about a marriage and about being past your best, wearing a superhero suit.
