History influenced RRR

Both leads are real revolutionaries, and the film says openly that it is inventing everything they do. Komaram Bheem led a Gond rebellion against the Nizam of Hyderabad in the 1930s and was killed in 1940. Alluri Sitarama Raju led the Rampa Rebellion against the British in 1922 and was executed in 1924. They were separated by region, cause and about a decade, and they never met. The film's premise is the meeting that could not have happened, and the closing titles list other independence figures as though the story had been about them too. Filed MEDIUM deliberately: the men are real, the history is the frame, and the events are fiction.
