InfluenceHIGH

The third film, Captain America: Civil War, takes its premise from Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's crossover: a government act to register and control superheroes after a disaster, which splits them into camps behind Captain America and Iron Man. The film replaces the comic's secret identities with the Sokovia Accords.

About the work

Civil War

In the wake of a tragedy, Capitol Hill proposes the Super Hero Registration Act, requiring all costumed heroes to unmask themselves before the government. Divided, the nation's greatest champions must each decide how to react—A decision that will alter the course of their lives forever. "Civil War" is a 2006–07 Marvel Comics crossover event. The storyline consists of an eponymous seven-issue limited series, written by Mark Millar and penciled by Steve McNiven, and various tie-in books. The storyline builds upon previous Marvel storylines, particularly "Avengers Disassembled", "House of M", and "Decimation". The series' tagline is "Whose Side Are You On?".
