About the work

L'Ascension du Haut Mal (Epileptic)

David B. tells the story of his childhood and youth alongside his older brother Jean-Christophe, whose severe epilepsy took over the family's life in the 1960s and 1970s. Their parents tried every cure, from macrobiotic communes to spiritualists and alchemists, while the young David escaped into drawing, dreams and imagined battles, which the book draws as monsters and ancestors.
